HVAC & Plumbing Warranties

Cabrillo’s Peace of Mind Warranties is designed to give you a worry-free approach to making home repairs and installation decisions. You can take advantage of some of the industry's best warranties with proper care and maintenance of your plumbing and HVAC systems. Our warranties are in place to help you maximize the life span of repairs and installations, ultimately saving you money. See the terms and conditions below:

1. HVAC SYSTEMS and Equipment Installation

1. All furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, and air conditioners installation warranties are as follows:
   1. Full manufacturer warranty for parts only. See manufacturer warranties below.
      1. Mitsubishi manufacture warranty - 12 years
      2. TRANE manufacture warranty - 10 years parts, 20 years heat exchanger
   2. Cabrillo will warranty the labor on said equipment for one year after the installation's completion date.
   3. Cabrillo will extend the labor warranty for said equipment to match the manufacturer warranty as long as:
      1. The equipment was installed by Cabrillo Plumbing, Heating, & Air only.
      2. The equipment is maintained annually by Cabrillo Plumbing, Heating, & Air only.
      3. If the equipment is not maintained annually, the labor warranty will cease at that year.
      4. The Cabrillo labor warranty will not exceed the manufacturer's parts warranty under any circumstance.
   4. A Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program is required for all inspections to be performed.
   5. The Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program must include the corresponding equipment for the extended warranty to be applicable.

2. HVAC SYSTEMS and Equipment Repairs

1. All furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, and air conditioners repair warranties are as follows:
   1. Any repairs to existing equipment will have a Lifetime Warranty on the repair itself.
   2. Any repair recommendations directly related to the suggested repairs that are not performed will void Lifetime Warranty eligibility.
   3. To maintain the Lifetime Warranty for any qualifying repair, Cabrillo Plumbing, Heating, & Air will need to maintain and inspect the equipment annually.
   4. If the equipment is not maintained annually, the Lifetime Warranty will cease at that year.
   5. If the existing system was not installed according to the jurisdiction code or manufacturer specifications, it will not qualify for the Lifetime Warranty.
   6. Any components in the equipment that were not repaired are NOT covered under this warranty.
   7. Unless otherwise noted, any repairs made to equipment will have a warranty of no less than one year.
   8. A Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program is required for all inspections to be performed.
   9. The Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program must include the corresponding equipment for the extended warranty to be applicable.

3. Water Heater Installations

1. All water heater installation warranties are as follows:
   1. Full manufacturer warranty for parts.
   2. Full manufacturer warranty for the tank.
   3. Cabrillo will warranty the labor on said water heater for one year after the installation's completion date.
   4. Cabrillo will extend the labor warranty for said water heater to match the manufacturer parts and tank warranty as long as:
      1. The water heater was installed by Cabrillo Plumbing, Heating, & Air only.
      2. The water heater is maintained annually by Cabrillo Plumbing, Heating, & Air only.
      3. If the water heater is not maintained annually, the labor warranty will cease at that year.
      4. The Cabrillo labor warranty will not exceed the manufacturer's parts warranty under any circumstance.
      5. The Cabrillo labor warranty will not exceed the manufacturer’s tank warranty under any circumstance.
   5. A Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program is required for all inspections to be performed.
   6. If the building's water pressure exceeds 80 psi, a pressure regulator and expansion tank are required to qualify for the full manufacturer warranty and Cabrillo’s extended warranty. If a pressure regulator and expansion tank are required and not installed, all warranties are null and void.

4. Water Heater Repairs

1. All water heater repair warranties are as follows:
   1. Any repairs to an existing water heater will have a Lifetime Warranty on the repair made for the equipment requiring repair.
   2. Any repair recommendations that are directly related to the suggested repairs that are not performed will void the Lifetime Warranty.
   3. To maintain the Lifetime Warranty for any qualifying repair, Cabrillo Plumbing, Heating, & Air must maintain the water heater annually.
   4. If the water heater is not maintained annually, the lifetime warranty will cease that year.
   5. If the water heater was not installed according to the jurisdiction code or manufacturer specifications, it will not qualify for the Lifetime Warranty.
   6. Any components in the water heater that were not repaired are NOT covered under this warranty.
   7. Unless otherwise noted, any repairs made to equipment will have a warranty of no less than one year.
   8. A water heater tank is NOT a repairable part.
   9. If the water heater begins to leak or otherwise requires replacement, the Lifetime Warranty will cease at that moment.
   10. A Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program is required for all inspections to be performed.
   11. The Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program must include the corresponding equipment for the extended warranty to be applicable.

5. Drain, Gas, Vent, and Water Line (to be referred to as Plumbing Systems) Installation and Repairs

1. All Plumbing Systems installation and repair warranties are as follows:
   1. Repairs to the existing Plumbing System will have a 10-year warranty on the installation or repair made for the Plumbing System requiring repair.
   2. Any repair recommendations made that are not performed will void the 10-year Warranty.
   3. To maintain the 10-year Warranty for any qualifying installation or repair, the Plumbing System MUST be inspected annually by Cabrillo Plumbing, Heating, & Air only.
   4. If the plumbing system is not maintained annually, the 10-year warranty will cease that year.
   5. If the Plumbing System was not installed according to the jurisdiction code or manufacturer specifications, it will not qualify for the 10-year Warranty.
   6. Any portions of the Plumbing System that were not repaired are NOT covered under this warranty.
   7. Unless otherwise noted, any installations or repairs to the Plumbing System will be warranted for no less than one year.
   8. Any abuse of the plumbing system voids all warranties on the plumbing system that was installed or repaired.
   9. A Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program is required for all inspections to be performed.
   10. The Cabrillo Annual Maintenance Program must include the corresponding equipment for the extended warranty to be applicable.
   11. Any tubular drain repair (drain repairs under sinks) is only eligible for a maximum 5-year warranty.

6. Drain Line Stoppages

1. All primary or secondary drains serviced for drain cleaning will have a warranty of no greater than 30 days.
2. Unless otherwise noted, all primary or secondary drains serviced for drain cleaning will automatically have a 30-day warranty.
   1. Drain stoppage warranties can be voided at the discretion of the service technician.
   2. A maximum of 1 return visit in the 30-day warranty period if a warranty is applied.
   3. Drain stoppage warranties will be voided automatically under the following conditions:
      1. The existing drain piping is improperly installed or not up to current plumbing codes.
      2. The existing drain piping is in poor condition.
      3. The existing drain piping has root intrusion.
      4. The existing drain line has been abused due to the presence of wipes, hygiene products, etc.
      5. The existing drain piping is a galvanized metal pipe.
      6. Undersized drain lines.
   4. A toilet that has been removed and reinstalled to perform a drain cleaning service will have a 1-year warranty on the reconnection point at the flange unless otherwise noted. Under NO circumstance does Cabrillo take responsibility or warranty any existing toilet flanges.

7. Fixture Installation Warranties

1. Toilets
   1. All toilet warranties are as follows:
      1. TOTO and Kohler toilets
         1. 5-year Cabrillo warranty (No annual inspection required)
      2. All other brands of toilets
         1. 1-year warranty (No annual inspection required)
2. Faucets
   1. All faucet warranties are as follows:
      1. Moen and Kohler faucets
         1. 4-year Cabrillo warranty (No annual inspection required)
         2. 2-year Cabrillo warranty on a faucet pull-out hose if applicable
      2. All other brands of faucets
         1. 1-year Cabrillo warranty (No annual inspection required)

8. Garbage Disposals

1. 5-year warranty on Insinkerator ½ HP garbage disposal (No annual inspection required)
2. 7-year warranty on Insinkerator ¾ HP garbage disposal (No annual inspection required)
3. Warranty void if abuse of the disposal is determined as the cause of failure.
4. No warranty on “jammed” garbage disposal

9. Fixture Repair Warranties

1. All toilet and faucet repairs
   1. 1-year Cabrillo warranty (No annual inspection required)

10. Underground water and drain line repair/replacement warranties

1. 1 year Cabrillo warranty maximum due to our location being susceptible to seismic events

11. NOTE: If equipment, repair, or service is not mentioned in any of the above warranties, a 1-year warranty will be issued unless otherwise stated on the invoice.
