The customer's problem
New EV in the driveway with no way to charge above trickle. Existing 60A service was already at capacity (kept tripping when both units ran the microwave). Owners wanted a modern service, a Tesla Wall Connector, and a dedicated subpanel for a future ADU conversion — without displacing the downstairs tenant.
The Cabrillo solution
Coordinated PG&E service upgrade to 200A. Replaced the exterior meter socket + main disconnect. Installed a new 200A main panel in the garage; kept the existing subpanel for the downstairs unit alive throughout. Ran 60A subfeed to a new Tesla Wall Connector at the driveway. All existing knob-and-tube branch circuits inspected and phased for a subsequent rewire project.
